Acne

I was pretty fortunate as a kid, at least in regard to my skin. I had very few zits and never any serious threat from acne. I was glad not to have to deal with some of the acne treatments that plagued some of my friends. It seems to me that there are some less obtrusive and more effective treatments for the malady.

Small Decisions--Big Differences

When trying to establish some long term goals for financial stability, even a small decision can often bring big benefits. One of those small decisions to save a few dollars is to purchase term insurance instead of a whole life policy. There is significant difference in the premiums and those can be saved in an account that will pay big dividends over the long haul. The key is to save or invest those funds rather than spend them.

Fort Bob Gabel

A couple of years ago we had two grandsons move into our home to live, as their mom has developed some medical problems that render her incapable of caring for them. We had to recondition our home to make it more a place for kids everyday. One of the things we did pretty quickly was get one of those swing sets that has a built in fort and slide and climbing wall. They love it and have named the place Fort Bob Gabel, after one of their uncles!

Branson

My wife and I have never been to Las Vegas, though we would like to see the shows, but we don’t want to go to casinos. Some of our friends have told us we might enjoy one of theBranson resorts in Missouri, where we could take in some great shows in a more family friendly atmosphere. We are giving it some thought.

Hiding the Wriinkles

I have let myself put on for too much weight over the past several months. I have been running with my grandson's, and even working out the Y a couple of times a week. But I have not refrained from the sweets and big portions that would be necessary if I really want to lose weight. I have been using the excuse that if I lose too much weight I will need to find the best anti wrinkle cream on the market.

When we have babies born in our congregation, I like to give a special gift to each of them. I do not go to showers, but because I have been giving out unique gifts for over 19 years, the young mothers are always excited with the efforts I make for their precious ones. Astronaut Beds

I have seen so many commercials for those beds that mold to your body and supposedly relieve pressure points. The commercials often refer to the fact that the technology for these beds originated with NASA and the space program. It makes me wonder if the astronauts really sleep on a memory foam mattress while in space. Moreover, do they sleep in one in their homes?
